In this new version addressing the unique challenges of the functional safety in the context of road vehicle (ISO 26262 second edition), we will share our practical knowledge in automotive functional safety as well as in the associated standards.

Gaining an FSCP ISO 26262 certification provides functional safety experts and their companies with multiple benefits:

  • Ensure that you meet the demands of the business and the ISO 26262 standard
  • Demonstrate your knowledge of functional safety with a widely recognized certification
  • Become part of the official TÜV SÜD functional safety expert listing
  • Enhance your career as a functional safety engineer, professional or expert
  • Maintain a competitive advantage by building internal competencies to tackle functional safety projects effectively and efficiently

ISO 26262 Training & TÜV-SÜD Functional Safety Certification

This course is designed for managers, safety managers, software developers, hardware developers, project leaders, quality representatives, test engineers, and anyone involved in ISO 26262 projects and lifecycle, primarily focusing on the development of programmable electronic safety systems and aiming to implement their developments on the basis of the recognized international standard, ISO26262, 2nd Edition.

This 4 days training course adopt a situation-based approach to the role of safety analyses and supporting processes and the resulting deliverable. Explanations of the necessary work products and appropriate treatment of the safety plan are naturally an integral part of all modules. After the course you are familiarized with the individual topics with the help of practical examples and ready for your examination.

On the 5th day, participant will have the opportunity to pass the 3-hour ISO 26262 Functional Safety Engineer Examination. This is a TUV-SUD recognized personnel certification program that demonstrates an individual’s proficiency in the ISO 26262 functional safety standard. After successful completion, the expert receives a FSCP certification which provides evidence of their qualification, knowledge and experience in the automotive industry.

ISO 26262 Training Modules Details

Module 1: Overview of Functional Safety and FSM for ISO 26262 2nd Edition Sections 1 - 12

The new ISO 26262 2nd Ed. Module 1 “Management of Functional Safety” is a full-day introduction to Functional Safety for all road vehicles. Participants gain a general overview of ISO 26262 and the main planning activities for safety-relevant development. Explanations of Sections 1-12 of ISO 26262 and the resulting activities focused on FSM are given as an introduction to the safety lifecycle.

Module 2: From Risk Analysis to System Design for ISO 26262 2nd Edition Sections 3, 4, 8, 9, 12

ISO 26262 2nd Ed. Module 2 “From Risk Analysis to System Design” is a full-day course focusing on Section 3 – Concept phase, Section 4 – Product development at the system level, and parts of Sections 8 – Supporting processes and 9 – ASIL-oriented and safety-oriented analyses. Module 2 is primarily aimed at those with responsibility for producing and processing functional, concept and system development projects and for all users of ISO 26262. In the course and the practical exercises in small groups, these participants are familiarized with the principles of drawing up hazard and risk analyses and deriving safety goals and parameters and using them as a basis for designing a Functional Safety concept.

Module 3: Development and Assessment of safety-related Hardware for ISO 26262 2nd Edition Sections 5, 8, 9, 1

Our ISO 26262 2nd Ed. Module 3, “Development and Assessment of safety-relevant Hardware”, is a full-day training course providing an introduction to the requirements in Sections 5, 8 and 9 of the standard. The requirements for safety-related hardware development are presented and complemented with the help of an exercise on creating the FMEDA hardware fault tolerance metric. Module 3 is aimed particularly at those with responsibility for producing and processing hardware and software development projects as well as all users of ISO 26262. After completing this course, participants are familiar with the key connections between system development, hardware development and software requirements from the perspective of the vendor responsible for hardware supply.
