11-2008 : CS Canada Delivers a New EMI Test-bench to a major Engine Manufacturer.

CS Canada has recently delivered a test-bench / engine simulator to perform Electro-magnetic Interference testing to a major helicopter manufacturer in the USA.

Using its proven test equipment technologies and the engine manufacturer simulated engine model, CS designed and built this bench to allow testing of all engine electrical externals in a special test room simulating high intensity magnetic fields.

The bench uses real-time technologies, off-the-shelf components and QNX OS to achieve a low-cost hardware-in-the-loop testing capability. This technology was developed from many different engine simulators / test-benches built over a number of years for our customers. These test-benches are used to perform Integration / System Testing for the Application Software used in the FADEC of our engine manufacturer customer.

We are very proud that this new CS customer has put its trust into CS Canada for the design and the delivery of this EMI test-bench; and CS did it within a very narrow time-frame and within budget.” said Laurent Speyser, COO of CS Canada.

The same technique can be used to design test-benches for any airborne systems.
