CS Canada will develop a new type of portable engine simulator using its proven real-time technologies. This simulator will be used by airframe manufacturers and avionics suppliers to test and develop the cockpit display / engine interface.
This test-bench is built to be generic therefore applicable to many different engine models. The design is based on CS proven test-bench technologies taking advantage of off-the-shelf components.
With this tool the aircraft cockpit display system can be tested and debugged with actual engine display signals generated by the simulator prior to an engine being actually available from the supplier. It can also be used to test the cockpit display equipment and Health Monitoring Unit during aircraft development, on the iron-bird, and during the aircraft manufacturing process, a definite time and money saver. This is possible thanks to its portability nature.
